Stefopoulos, the same artist responsible for the beautifully painted columns of the Lovejoy Ramp. The signature has been positively identified by J. Harrison (Lovejoy Articles)Framed in a beautiful vintage wooden frame.    - 17" by 21" in frame.  Paper on back of frame is brittle and torn around the edges a bit.    - Poster is creased from having been folded, with little to no wear.    - Excellent condition and vivid, bright colors.  No water damage, tears, or stains.    - Through my limited research I found the following:  Tom Stefopoulos spent 7 years at the Greek National Art Institute in Athens and immigrated here from Greece in 1912 at age 20.  During the war, Stefopoulas worked in a Seattle shipyard. At that time he drew a picture depicting Greek and United states friendship which he sent to President Roosevelt.  This is most likely from the same time era.  I did read that he did work as a commercial artist for a short time, but I could not get an exact date. He died in 1971.      - Depicts Greek Militia and Nazi soldiers in acts of past and "present".  Please see photos for details.  The crosses in the graveyard do each have                 separate names on them, in Greek.      - At the bottom there is a caption written in both Greek and English.  I have taken a close photo of the English version, and it reads as follows:       THE AVENGERBlood-thirsty  the hateful beasts of Nazism thrust their greedy hands upon Greece.  They have defiledthe sacred soil of our native land with their blood-dripping boots and have befouled the clear air ofGreece with their foul breath.  They have stolen...they have grabbed...they have assassinated innocents.they have tortured...  they have scattered the darkness of slavery and brought famine and suffering,pestilence and horror  But lo!  Comes the help of our glorious adopted country, America, and our(at this point the rest is covered by the frame)An amazing find.  Please feel free to ask questions.If you feel you would like a certain method of  shipping or find some inexpensive way, let me know.  I can work with you on shipping.  Insurance is a must, though.Thank you!
