According to Mr. White, he drew this in the summer of 1970 at the Greenville Rodeo near Dallas, Texas. This was one of his early drawings and he named it Three Cowpokes and A Guardian Angel. The cowboys who posed for this sketch were from Ladonia, Texas and they had just put on a entertaining gun-fight show for the rodeo fans. This unique and one-of-a-kind framed detail sketch of these cowpokes and their horses measures 24.75" x  20.75". The wooden black frame width is 1" inch. The backside is sealed with protective brown paper and it has a wire hanger. Other than a small rub near the upper right corner of the frame, both the sketch and frame are in good condition. However, it has been in this frame for over 30 years and needs to be re-framed. In 1976, Jack White was named Official Artist of Texas. Several pieces of his art are in the Smithsonian and other museums and he has received several honors. He was the first non-law enforcement person to be given a lifetime membership in the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and most recently in 2006, Mr. White was commissioned an honoree Admiral in the Texas Navy.
