This photograph was given to Keith Haring from WILLIAM COUPON as a THANK YOU after a KEITH HARING photo shoot. I purchased this photograph directly from the KEITH HARING FOUNDATION when they sold it at a Christie's Auction a little while after Keith's death 16 years ago (the auction was June 21, 1991). Christie's Auction House sticker still on back of photograph.      In Keith Haring's authorized biography there is a photograph on page 217 of the book showing his Greenwich Village apartment and upon the wall you can PLAINLY SEE this photograph (and others, two of them I also had until I sold them 12 months ago).      THE  CAPTION FOR THIS PHOTOGRAPH ON THE BOTTOM LINE READS "Living room of Keith's Greenwich Village duplex decorated by Sam Havadtoy, New York, June 1990." The photograph is stamped "Coupon   c 87" on bottom right.    I could not find what (if any) magazine used this great photograph, but WIlliam Coupon is a famous photographer who shoots A LOT for MAJOR MAGAZINES (Rolling Stone, TIME, Playboy).  Here are some notes from his website... This photograph was on display in my house on a inside hallway (NO WINDOWS, NO SUNLIGHT) so there has been no fading or damage.  Orginial frame, mat and paper backing on frame. EXACTLY AS IT CAME OFF KEITH HARING'S APARTMENT WALL. Currently in climate controlled storage (last 8 months) wrapped in layers of paper and shrink wrap. Image is 13 x 13.5 on paper size is 17 x 21, no mat, the 17 x 21 frame holds the glass off the print. Christie's Auction House sticker on back.
