Description
Dr. Maier acquired the Wood sculpture from Picasso for services rendered. Pablo Picasso stated to Dr. Maier that it was a rendering of Francoise Gilot, his lover, wife. Present owner traded 18th century Spode china ice bucket to the doctor, for the sculpture, many years ago; before the value of Picasso's art took off, and his popularity ! Pablo Picasso is the most well known artist of the 20th century. The sculpture, made of one piece of wood, is approximately 100 lbs. The one of a kind work stands at approximately 66” tall, with a 27" girth. Francoise is mounted on a 12" x 18 ½" marble base, weighing about 60lbs. She is signed, “Picasso 2-6-49" on the bottom of the sculpture (see photo). The life size, surreal, and erotic sculpture, is a masterpiece rendering of a woman. Dr. Maier did acquisition 18th century porcelain for the Chicago Art Institute. The doctor was a great collector, and lover of this field. He donated his 18th century porcelain collection to the Chicago Art Institute. . The Wood sculpture was on display, by an accredited curator, at the Natural Gallery Museum of art for 1 1/2 years, in a Picasso exhibit, in Hollywood California, side by side with Playboy's Hugh Hefner's, Vargas Girls watercolors.  The curator of the museum carbon dated the wood to be of proper period, refllecting the date on sculpture: Signature, and date, to be valid. Pablo Picasso wood sculpture; signed, and dated, Picasso 2-6-49, is the most impressive of all Pablo's works. The statue is uncatalogued, exactly like the sketches Pablo Picasso's mistress Genevieve Laporte brought to auction, and sold for 1.8 million dollars, shown in the pictorial. The picture of the womans face in the pictorial is of Francoise Gilot years ago when with Pablo Picasso , as his lover, wife. The statue is a rendering of this woman: Title of the statue is; Francoise Gilot. Steve Wynn Las Vegas, of the Wynn resort; just sold a Pablo Picasso piece of art for 139 million dollars, to a prominent New York collector Steve Cohen. Steve Wynn paid 48.4 million dollars for it in 1997, showing how rapidly Picasso's art is increasing in value !            This statue will instantly be worth 100 million dollars plus, when a famous person owns it. This next paragraph is a letter written by Ken McCleary, regarding the status of the Pablo Picasso wood sculpture. In regards to the carved wooden sculpture signed Picasso that you obtained from Dr. Kenneth Maier, as you are aware, Dr. Maier had been a long time customer of mine and I had furnished him with 19th century English watercolors, and antique French clocks. I had been a guest at his home many times viewing other items he was considering; as a member of the acquisition committee of the Chicago Art Institute. On one occasion, after he returned from Europe with Mr Arthur Lieberman, he showed me a recent art acquisition that was the same sculpture you showed me. According to Dr. Maier, he had obtained it directly from the artist, Picasso. Kenneth McCleary's background: 25 years ran a monthly antique and art auction at the Drake Hotel, Oakbrook, Illinois. His brother and he helped Warbourough College Oxford Development, a summer antique seminar used by the University of London, and he has taught courses in antiques, and art, at the college level. In 1964 Jean Pinatel, Surte of Police for the city of Paris nominated him for membership in the International Society of Criminology. The sculpture is owned by a Past Master of a Masonic Lodge: Non profit organization. Proceeds of the sale will benefit Children homes, Old people homes, drug and rehabilitation centers, Masonic hospitals, a vast array of people. Thankyou all, and bid with love in your heart ! Clerifying the carbon dated process: this was done to make sure the wood wasn't fresh, just to make sure the wood was at least old wood. Exact date was not possible, but to tell if the wood was old enough, was established correct. : In the future this Sculpture is going to sell for over 200 million dollars, you'll kick yourself for not taking advantage of the chance to buy it now, for 10 million. You wait and see; don't have cramped fingers now. Take advantage of the opportunity, and my mood ! ! !
