Description
ArtifactualWear store 1932 Signed Litho Setters PERCIVAL ROSSEAU American (1859-1937) A Connecticut resident noted for the portrayal of hunting dogs. He was often invited by his patrons to hunt and paint on their estates. Percy Rockefeller made Rosseau a member of his hunting club at Overhills on his estate in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Rockefeller erected a studio for Rosseau  and often lent his bird dogs to Rosseau as models. His paintings can command as much as 70,000 which was a world auction record for him. This litho is signed by the artist and historical auction value is $200. to $300. A very similar Litho just sold on another ebay site (echoes42315) for $255. It was called "Cooling off" with 2 setters drinking out of a shallow riverbed and a third setter just looking ahead. I am offering this original print at a low starting price. If bidder starts at that price and gets it, they will have a good historical piece with potential of great profit. I know that people don't generally like reserves; I sure don't, and will offer this one last time, except without a reserve. The frame is 13x11". The actual print is 10 1/8x 7 5/8". In excellent condition behind glass. Was in a family estate sale and in their possesion for many years. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool.
