RARE LIMITED EDITION ETCHING SIGNED JAMES COIGNARD GRAVURE/CARBORAND LES DEUX BLUES EN AXE AB ESTATE SALE Start Price USD 1,899.99 Current Price USD 1,899.99 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price USD 2,750.00 Reserve Price - Start Time Thursday, July 03, 2008 End Time Sunday, July 13, 2008 Location Montreal, QC See more about 'RARE LIMITED EDITION ETCHING SIGNED JAMES COIGNARD ' Description WOW, this is a wonderful piece of art to add to your collection, if you are a fan of James Coignard this is a must have.  It measures approximately 17 inches by 22 inches without frame and the frame measures 23 inches by 28 inches. IIT IS HAND SIGNED AND IS A LIMITED EDITION OF 23/75 AND DATES FROM 1985. It is between two plexiglasses and note that there is one or two ants that are stuck in between the plexisglass and I have not opened it up to take them out as I do not want to toulch it in any way it is as I found it in an ESTATE SALE.    I have looked at it over closely  and I must admit that I am not an expert in art but it is a gravure on carborandum which means some type of thick paper and I have found it to be in a good condition although the thick paper is wawy on the back side which most probably is normal and look like one tiny bump is a little thinner than the rest but see pics. It has nice bright colors see pics. (the frame is a modern wood covered with plastik I think) You can see on the pics that on the back of the frame there is still a little part of the original purchase sticker. Be sure to ask you questions before because there are absolutly no returns on this.   I searched on the internet about this artist and have found out that, he lived between 1925-2008 and was an abstract artist, he studied at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Nice, and later apprenticed under the well-known painter Marchand des Raux. In both his mixed media on canvas and his works on paper, James Coignard is known for his technical versatility. Coignard achieves a deep, heavy texture as a distinctive trait in his art. "The painter is, like everybody, witness of his time... I focus in my paintings on the anguishes and agressions of mankind by my gesture of anger, dynamism and also of hope."   James Coignard passed away this year March 7th 2008. SO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEAN HIS ART WILL ONLY GO UP AND UP SO THIS IS THE TIME TO ACQUIRE.  I have also seen that the same Limiyed Print sales in the ranges of $3,000.00 to $5,000.00 now so imagine in a few years!    Please note that the orange back on one of the pictures is the wall I placed it on.   AMAZING MUST SEE!!!!!!!
