Signed and date (1993) in the lower right in red colors, typical of the artist Title; “Portrait of a young peasant girl” Remo was born in Innsbruck, Austria, February 10, 1915. His birth was registered by the church under the town of Rovereto, Italy where his family was living before world war one, and where his family move back after the war. Remo died on November 12th, 1999 away from his beloved country in the city of Dallas, Texas The early years Remo, as a young boy was frustrated by his teachers because they were unable to understand his need to express his artistic talent. As a teenager, he had the opportunity to travel with his uncle to France where a completely new world was in front of him. In France, Remo was exposed to new artistic idea and was influenced by the artists friends of his uncle. He was allow freedom of expression and learned more about the arts but also more about himself. All self defeating doubts were gone from his mind and upon his return to Italy, he was ready to continue his artistic career in world rich of tradition in the fine arts. In 1933 Remo Mario Trentini enrolled at the academia delle belle arti “Albertina” in Torino, Italy under the supervision of the Italian maestro Caffaro. Following his graduation and the war, Remo had his first exhibit in Fossano, Italy, where the highly recognized art critic Sen. Sacco was impressed by Remo paintings and in his revue wrote “...his use of colors is particularly advanced and proves this young man is destined to become one of the great artist of our time....” The same year Remo won a competition by the Vatican for making frescos in Argentina’s churches, an opportunity he turned down and instead he chose to move to Paris. In the middle of his life In France Remo, further his studies to perfect his technique. It was in Paris that he started to be interested in the old oil paintings on reverse of the glass. In his continuous searching for new idea he decided to combine the old technique with the still fresh post impressionist movement. With this new idea in his mind Remo embarked in a program of experimentation of painting on reverse of the glass that would take him 13 years before being perfected at his final stage that critics and collectors admire today. During his permanence in Paris, he had several exhibitions in Montmatre at the gallery “La Parisienne”. Subsequently, he moved to Rome, the Italian Capital, where arts were fluorescing one more time, there he established himself with his family. In Roma, Remo with his art quickly gained the recognition of the general public and the admiration of the critics. Many important Italian Families known for their outstanding collection become avid collectors of his works. In 1967, Remo was invited to present his art works in a tour show across Europe. His works were exhibit in Monte-Carlo, Vienna, Paris, Milano, Florence and Castello di San Mezzano. In the late ‘60 and early ‘70 Italy was plagued by chronic political and social problems, Remo lost his faith in the social structures of the Country and in 1976 left is beloved Italy for new places and moved to Canada. The Last period Remo with his art and his personality one more time reached out to the public that responded positively to his art. In his Canadian years, he exhibited in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. He received a special invitation to hold a personal show at the City Hall of Ottawa followed by another show under the patronage of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Count Max von Podewils-Durnitz Remo was commission to paint the portrait of Sen. John Connelly of the Canadian Upper House. The Governor of Canada invited him to be part of a small group of artist for a special presentation, as a cultural and visual art of Canada, to Her Majesty Elizabeth II Queen of England during Her Canadian visit. After the return to England of Her Majesty, she decided to honor Remo Mario Trentini in accepting one of his reverse oil on glass and adding it to one of the most prestigious collection in the world. In the summer of 1980 Remo moved permanently to Dallas, Texas. Since moving to the United States his works have been exhibit in major cities, New York, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Chicago. His art works was and still being acquired by major private and corporate collection of this Country. Remo known to be an innovative artist, always looking for new idea, he decided to enter the world of reality, fantasy and symbolism with his neoclassical surrealistic art works. Remo art is a perfect blend of the past and a modern vision of the future which people find hard to resist.
