An iconic image on par with Griffin's BG-105 and Fairey's 1993 Andre... This is Rob Jones' first White Stripes poster - and almost his last. At the time, Dennis Loren had been commissioned for The White Stripes poster design... so instead of seeking permission from the band, Rob obtained permission from the venue in France, printing his name at the bottom: "POSTER BY ROB JONES @ ANIMALRUMMY.COM". White Stripes management showed up in Lyon France and flipped, calling Rob at home, and confiscating 60 posters (only 100 were created). As it turns out, after all that, The White Stripes loved the poster... and the rest is history. Most people don't realize the significance - that this poster started it all... The White Stripes aesthetic and packaging images as you recognize them today, including the band's website, record boxes, concert t-shirts, backstage passes, record covers, stage backdrops, pins, lenticular postcards, promo handouts, camera packaging, aluminium showcase designs; not to mention the Raconteurs design aesthetic, and the consistent production of one amazing poster after another at Animalrummy. Stored flat in the flat files, pictured is the poster you will receive. I uploaded high quality photos. I looked over the poster carefully. There is not a single crease or corner ding. The paper is crisp and shows no signs of handling. The only flaws I found are a "rough patch" in the border next to the R in Krusty Kolor, about 1 inch long where the paper is not smooth. There's also some scuffing that is common with these 2003 Krusty Kolor prints. I attempted to capture it in the photos, but the surface scuffing doesn't pick up well. Found primarily within the jacket, on the left knee, and one scuff that extends from CFK's right arm to the newspapers below. Considering that this poster is practically nonexistant, these are minor details.
