Active in Kaluga. Trained in art education. Specialized in landscape, portraits, and Still-life. Pushkarev, I.Z. was extremely well known for his observations of middle class individuals. He painted their lifestyles in his own perspective. His subjects tended to be farm workers and factory workers. He portrayed a realistic sense of impressionism and of the subjects’ lifestyles. His landscapes often included people during their working hours. All of his works were done realistically by his observations, not by some type of imagination of the mind.
