(Born 1904) Born 1904. Active in Kaluga. Trained in art education. Specialized in landscape, portraits, and Still-life. Pushkarev, I.Z. was extremely well known for his observations of middle class individuals. He painted their lifestyles in his own perspective. His subjects tended to be farm workers and factory workers. He portrayed a realistic sense of impressionism and of the subjects’ lifestyles. His landscapes often included people during their working hours. All of his works were done realistically by his observations, not by some type of imagination of the mind. Exhibitions include: All-Union Art Exhibitions* in Moscow. All-Union Art ExhibitionsThe biggest regular national exhibition of soviet artists. Beginning from 1946 each two years, the great exhibition took place (mostly in Moscow, but sometimes in Leningrad). It was a final competition of artists that ended zonal and regional exhibitions all over the country. It was quite important for the artists to win the right to exhibit their works at the show because State museums and other Public Institutes used to buy paintings from there. The works of the Artist, Pushkarev, I.Z. are now in private collections in Italy, England, Germany and the United States. The works of Pushkarev are sold in the auctions all over the world.
