Landseer Engrave' Description This is a lot of 2 Lithographs.  (1)  "Impertinent Puppies, from the engraving by T. Landseer.   Sir Edwin Landseer, as is well known, began to paint at a very early age, and this is one of his boyhood's pictures.  It was exhibited in the Royal Academy in 1821, nearly half a century ago! and from that year Sir Edwin was an almost constant contributor.  The story of the picture is soon told.  Two thoughtless puppies have in their wanderings come upon poor Jocko's dinner, which they have forthwith attacked.  The chattering rage of the infuriated monkey and the yelps of the misguided pups, though they cannot be heard, are felt by the spectator, whilst he cannot but admire the admirable drawing and force of expression given to the three animals by a lad when in his nineteenth year."    (2)  Monkey burning Cat's Paw on top of Stove.  No title or description available on this litho.         Came from an estate antique auction.  Age unknown to me.  In good condition.  Incredible detail!  Overall dimensions:  14 1/2" x 10 1/4".   Shipping weight:  12 oz.  Media Mail Place a Bid!
