Description
Up for auction is this intriguing signed and numbered Bev Doolittle printThe Forest Has Eyes. This print was professionally framed by Howard / Mandville Gallery of Edmonds Washington, now located in Kirkland Washington. It is triple matted. The surface mat is linen. All the matting materials are acid-free. The print is in excellent condition and the elegant frame is in good condition. The corners of the frame are showing some wear, and there are small nicks here and there on other parts of the frame. (see images below). I took the print to a professional restorer, who suggested I leave the corners and the nicks as they are because a new owner may wish to re-frame the print. The restorer also pointed out that there is a little hazing that can be seen under close inspection on the inside of the glass. He thought the print could benefit from the frame being taken apart and the glass cleaned. I decided to leave restoration to the new owner. One person I consulted with said that some people think a little hazing adds to the charm of a print.Details:Limited Edition Lithograph On Paper Originally released 1984Signed and numbered print #313 / 8500 (See image of signature below)Image size: 39" x 21-1/2" Frame size: 46" x 28"I have the original COD (Certificate Of Documentation) which appears in the image at the bottom of the page. Also, The Howard / Mandville Gallery has attested in writing that this print is an authentic DooLittle. A copy of this document will accompany the print. The Howard / Mandville Gallery has estimated the retail value of this print between $4,575-$6,630.. Here is some feedback I’ve received about my Doolittle prints: 11/9/07 "GOOD SELLER. PACKED TO THE HILT!! WOULD BUY AGAIN!" 12/31/06 "Great Communication/Great Product/Great Service/ SETS THE EXAMPLE/THANKS!!!!!" These are Bev Doolittle’s thoughts about her painting:"In The Forest Has Eyes, I want the viewer to share the emotions of the rider, and - as he does, because his life depends on it - 'read' the story in the leaves, branches, water and stone that surround him."Handling, Shipping, and Insurance Charges: Buyer is responsible for the shipping cost: UPS Ground 5-7 days: $85 anywhere in continental U.S. For shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico, UPS Ground is $244.
