In 2002 "Hometown Pride" many homes have Old Glory waving on the porch. ~~~Due to slow sales, both Victorian Evening and Blue Cottage were retired from publication. Therefore, fewer than the 980 prints in the edition were actually sold. These appear on Ebay once in a blue moon and sell for a high dollar. ~~Lesson learnt ~~ a "retired" painting becomes scarce and the price can rocket. ~~~The name, G. Purdy, on the mail box of Victorian Christmas IV was Kinkade's high school teacher. ~~~Thom's two oldest daughters, Merritt and Chandler, as well as Norman Rockwell appear in the painting Victorian Christmas I. ~~~Lamplight Lane is based on the English village of Upper and Lower Slaughter in the Cotswold region. He christened the meandering stream "The Brooke Windermer." Lamplight Brooke is a view of Bourton-On-The-Water. ~~A famous landmark in England, The Swan at Bibury, is known by Kinkade collectors as Lamplight Inn. Lamplight Village is a real village in England. He began the painting on location and then finished it in his studio later. ~~~The artist with easel in Lamplight Village is a self- portrait of Kinkade. Located near the lake district in England, Julianne's Cottage is a real working farm that once belonged to Beatrix Potter. ~~~Thom and Nanette spent the night in the front bedroom located in the upper left-hand corner of the second story of the home depicted as Julianne's Cottage.
