Description
Two Silkscreen prints by Harry Gottlieb, the first showing children on a swing and the second showing a man playing with an infant in water.  Both prints have been made on colored paper - the first on a heavyweight red, and the second on a slightly lighter weight blue papers.  Both measure about 12" x 7".  They are currently mounted on mat board, with linen tape at the top edges.  They would need new mats for display. Both prints have been signed by the artist, as shown in the photographs. Harry Gottlieb (1895 - 1993) was originally from Rumania, and came to the US in 1907.  He is known as a painter, screenwriter and lithographer, but in 1940 he made his first silkscreen, which on exhibition won the prestigious Eye Medal at the 40th Annual Exhibition of Watercolors and Prints at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. These silkscreens are typical of those for which he became known in the latter part of his career, with rich and vibrant colors.       The price given is for the pair.
