Description
This Drawing is from the rare collection of the Jewish artist and painter Moshe Mlamed (1921 – 1987). Moshe was born in Hungary; he created most of his art works in Israel after he came to live in the Zionist and Jewish country in the 1940s. He lived in Netania, an Israeli mixed culture city, secular and religion Jewish society that lives together. Most of his art was influenced from this atmosphere of culture, society and the “real every-day life”. In this drawing Moshe created very common moment in the 1970s of Israel: Two old people playing in them free time backgammon on street. Very nice and with many small description of the moment. There is a rare surprise from behind of this drawing: Because the painter was almost poor, he glued this paper drawing on the poster of the prime minister of Israel, Golda Meier (in the time of the Yom Kippur war). And now it is still comes together – very funny and with value. The drawing is original with the signature of the artist. It is Black drawing on a white drawing paper. Unframed. 24 centimeter on 17 centimeter.
