I also offer FREE local pick up in Barrie Ontario, about 2 hours North of Niagara Falls.   This maybe the most unusual piece I have listed this week, and I honestly feel it is the most unusual piece I have sold in a very long time. I do know it is a needlepoint with some smaller stitched areas that might be petitpoint, I am no expert, so please check the photos. I also have no idea what the people are, at first I thought they were African American depicted in a cartoonish style, but they also look sort of like Elfs with those hats, again judge for yourself from the photos. The artist has titled the work at the bottom, it reads Physio and the date 1866, but I am not sure what the "people" are doing, one looks like he has a cup of tea, but I have no idea what the other is doing. The condition is less than perfect, there is some water stains, fading and even one small stitched hole, but considering it is 142 years old, I think it still looks great. The frame is probably about 80-90 years old, appears to be solid oak and measures approx 22-1/2" by 20-1/2" and the work itself measures approx 20" by 18", large enough to be a focal point in any room, but not so large as to be overpowering. If you like the unusual this is the perfect piece for you and I think it would fit in well even with a collection of samplers.  I am sure this would sell for a handsome price at a live auction or in a gallery, but with my low opening bid and NO RESERVE someone could score a huge bargain !!
