Manchester, Greater Manchester See more about 'VIADUCT - LIAM SPENCER 1995 oil on board painting 1995' Description A rare original painting by Liam Spencer.  I am selling this item for a friend of mine- Andy Kelly- an artist and Life Drawing Tutor.  The Viaduct ( 70cm x 60cm - 89 x 78 in frame) painted in 1995 by Burnley born artist Liam Spencer.  This painting was purchased from the artist by Mr Kelly - Liam Spencer was working at the Masa Art Studios in central Manchester.  Mr Kelly was attending the Life Drawing Classes at the Masa Studios and became a great admirer of Liam Spencers work.  Mr Kelly paid for the painting in weekly installments and was over joyed when he finally had paid for it - since then it has hung on Mr Kelly's wall for the last 11 years.  It has not been seen in public since the purchase date in 1997. A typical city scape / industrial scene which at the time of purchase was an example of the larger works being produced by the artist.  A great example of the aritists earlier work showing many elements of the bold brush strokes, concertration on light and local subject matter which are now famous attributes of Liam Spencer's early works. Beautifully double framed by local Manchester framers Dixon Bate this painting has never failed to impress.     A great investment considering the huge demand for Liam Spencers work.  This painting represents an excellent example of a large early work that shows the artist moving towards what we are now familiar with in his paintings.  The original painting is signed by the artist on front and back and is dated 1995.  Mr Kelly is selling this item for financial reasons.
