Description This picture is 15x11 ½ with the border and 13x9 is the picture size.  I got several of these picture at auction, they are a  teacher  American history reference.  This one is of The Birth of Pennsylvania..  King Charles 11 in his breakfast chamber at Whitehall, now not in existence, is shown in the picture.  William Penn had inherited from his father, Admiral Penn, a claim against the Crown of 15,000.  In 1681 he obtained from the King, a tract of land east of the Delaware River and north of Maryland. The picture is reproduced from the original painting under the personal direction of Mr. F.L.G. Ferris, the artist.
