Description
Payment: For this item please send check or money order or some other method. I do not accept Pay Pal on artwork. International buyers I recommend insurance. Well, here it is. The piece of art work you've been waiting for. This was done by Washington F. Friend (1820-1886). This I would call one of his masterpieces done early in his career. It is inscribed by him on the back "48 Fort Ticonderoga" in pencil. The way the sky, water, ferry, sheep, houses, and trees are done the way they are so finely executed, he took such time and paid great attention to every little detail. You can see the smoke coming up from the smoke stacks. The sunset type scene and the sheep gathering above the lake. It really shows just how great of an artist he was. On the back there is a lot of information on the artist. The people that had this framed even made a small cut out with a door so you can see the inscription. This is a nice large size measuring 14 1/8" long by 10 1/8" wide. The frame is 21 1/2" long by 16 3/4" wide. This is in excellent condition no fading, tears, etc. The signature is nice and clear. However there is a tiny spot which you can see in the close-up of the ferry. The spot is in the bottom left of the close up. This is guaranteed to be 100% original and to be done by Washington F. Friend. If you have any questions please ask. Thank you for looking. The close ups of the signature and the sheep, you can see very tiny dots that is just dust that was on the outside of the frame and isn't anything wrong with the picture. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister
