Description
ATTENTION: this auction is for serious buyers only. For those that know what they are buying. I am a serious seller. I sell art at markets, small auctions and of course EBAY. This is our family business, so we carefully review every art piece. Visit our website for more information at www.justfineart.tk Thank you for your interest! Painting comes from our private family art gallery, so the winning buyer will receive signed ownership transfer and purchase certificate. Buyer will also receive below mentioned provenance documents. Description: Up for sale is a stunning watercolour painting on paper signed Marc Chagall. It's NOT A PRINT OR LITHOGAPH. It's original watercolour drawing. We bought this piece with some other paintings from a family that collects art. The title attributed to this work is "Bouquet de fleurs". Artwork is signed bottom right. Artwork has an appraisal certificate. Replacement Cost value: $180,000. Appraisal was finished by recognized and certified appraiser Sara Kinch. She has two college degrees specifically concerned with art: BFA in Studio Art and BA in Art as Theory. Sara Kinch is a member of AOA, the Fine Arts Society of the Southern Tier, Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYSUT. Extract from appraisal certificate: "The female figures that are the subject of the painting may be the artist's wife Bella and Chagall's mother. The time period for the completion of the painting is 1971. Chagall paintings most often contain symbolic references. In this painting the goat may be Chagall, the bird may stand for the sky and freedom, the houses of Vitebsk, the Russian village where Chagall was born and spent his early life, often in paintings created by the artist during the time he spent in Paris, represent feelings for his homeland. The artist's signature that appears at the lower right-hand corner of the painting is typical and representative of the artist Marc Chagall" There are few significant details on the back: 1) stamp or inscribed table and some writings left by one of the owners Henry Lloyd and his signature with date (see images below) 2) inscription left by John Diece. I believe it's his signature, number of his collection and date. Also there is a pencil inscription on the front of the artwork, that reads: "7A61o". Size: 42,4 x 31,2 cm. Artwork size with frame - 51,5 x 62,5 Provenance: Private British collector John Diece purchased this artwork from gallery in Nice in 1979. Gallery COA,purchase certificate included. Later sold to Sir Henry Lloyd. Personal letter from H.Lloyd included. We bought this artwork from French couple Mr. and Mrs. Deparque. Letter from them is incl. as well. All ORIGINAL provenance documents will be provided to the winning buyer. If you want to see scan copies of those documents, please email us at topartpicks@gmail.com Condition report: Due to its age, this painting has some browning on the back of the paper and the corners of the paper are a bit curly. The frame is in excellent condition. Please note, the actual appearance of the drawing is best shown in the close-up photo. We have been informed by the last owner that the painting has been professionally inspected by an Art Restorer, but no restoration has been done. Payment options: I accept PayPal and wire bank transfer payments. If you have any other payment options in mind, please contact me first. Thanks. Bidding terms: If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks or if your e-bay score is less than 95% then you are kindly asked for permission to bid.
