Description ZEBRAWOOD SEGMENTED BOWL (sometimes referred to as Polychromatic) Beautiful hand turned wooden bowl. Made this several years ago and admired it in my curio cabinet. (Smokeless home) Time for it to go and make room for other stuff. 37 individually cut pieces of wood combined to make a unique piece of art.   GREAT EYE APPEAL - WILD ZEBRA LATHE TURNED ONE-OF-A-KIND ALL WOOD COLOR IS NATURAL (NOT STAINED). THIS IS NOT A SUPER THIN INLAY ON CHEAP WOOD BUT SOLID TOP QUALITY EXOTIC HARDWOOD. The Process: Each piece was individually cut using a special jig on my table saw to get the precise correct angle for a perfect joint fit. The individual pieces are sanded and glued together using Titebond II water-resistant wood glue to make a circle. Each circle is sanded and attached with glue to another circle producing a bowl blank. The piece is turned and shaped on a lathe. Designs are made while turning taking into consideration the type of wood, bowl blank shape and wood discrepancies, if any. Oftentimes turning will expose wood flaws that must be taken into design considerations. (Bark intrusions, Knots, etc.) This piece was then sanded with progressing grits of sandpaper from 80 grit to 400 grit. Sprayed with multiple coats of polyurethane. Several coats of stick and hard paste finishing wax are applied then buffed on and off the lathe, multiple times. All hardwoods which I use are from reputable suppliers, legal and from managed forests, to the best of my knowledge.Measures approximately:  Wide = 6 1/2” Tall =3 1/2”.Finish and gluing techniques do not allow for liquid use. This bowl is however food safe. Never submerge in water or use in a dishwasher. A glass/plastic insert may be purchased and inserted for fresh flowers etc. which is not part of this offering.
