Description
Payment & Shipping Muslin — Volume I JPz Emporium is delighted to offer these high quality digital images developed to make available to the photographer, professional or otherwise, an extensive and affordable library of backdrops. Our graphic artists have created this distinctive collection of 33 unique designs, each in a variety of different styles. For instance, there are both softly lit and brightly lit versions of most. Some are spotlighted with a soft glow while others include shadows. You'll find flat as well as draped renderings, and many appear to flow along the floor. A few feature alternative color casts. Subtle as these differences may seem, the fact is that the same backdrop given to a number of different photographers will result in the creation of a number of different moods or ambiences. Our designers have attempted to capture this characteristic digitally. see an enlarged view of the entire library ~ click here if you're using a slower connection (The enlarged view of all 216 backdrops will take a few moments to appear. Please be patient.) Alternatively, to examine a low resolution contact sheet of all 216 images, click the button below. It will download a 1.6MB .pdf file (included with the DVD in order to easily view its contents). When opened, enlarging the file's window will also enlarge the images. So what does this mean? One very real significance of this is that often the photo you wish to place into a background has been lit differently than the background itself. When the two are layered, these differences in lighting cause the picture to look artificially reproduced. Consider the examples below: On the left, the photo of the child was taken with a flash. Inserted into this brightly lit background, the composite looks fine. But if all we had to work with was this softly lit background, the combination might look rather unnatural, as if she wasn't actually in the studio when the photograph was taken: If we should decide to edit her likeness, removing excessive glare and other artifacts, she'll look more natural combined with the softly lit background: But until then, we might prefer the more brightly lit version. While not available in an infinite variety, the simulated lighting conditions of the assorted backdrops offered here are helpful to a surprising degree. You may still want to tweak a few parameters, but you'll be able to choose from a number of scenes with which to begin — as in the example above, you might choose a more softly lit version for the picture taken in ambient light, and a brightly lit background for the subject photographed with a flash. What else? Similar issues arise when considering the subject matter itself. You may be working with a photo of something rather complicated, with various lines and shapes from which you do not wish to detract. In that case, a draped background may prove too busy, whereas the flat version would be more appropriate. Now the choice is yours! What if your subject is standing? Shouldn't the background have a floor? Then again, maybe you're taking a different approach, and a floor is not in the least bit desirable. Again, you have the power to choose. What do YOU want? Would you like more color and contrast to punch out of the cloth? Or would you prefer the backdrop to appear darker, less mottled? Do you need a smooth, canvas-like appearance, or something with a little texture? Perhaps a combination of both will suit your application. There are a total of 216 images on this DVD (a CD set is available for a small surcharge of $4.95 to cover production costs). So it is likely that you will be able to find precisely the background you need in most instances. Whether or not you are a professional, with a little creativity on your part, all your pictures will look as if they were photographed under the best conditions, right there in that beautiful studio you may (or may not as yet) own! About the images These high resolution digital images are 2400 x 3000 pixel, 300 dpi, 21MB uncompressed TIFF (.tif) files, usable on any platform. The young lady couldn't have looked any lovelier had she been posing, but it looks like the picture was snapped candidly outside the rec room in the church basement. We needn't be disappointed, though, because with a little editing and a nice background, the newlyweds are left with a keepsake! bride's image courtesy Jenni Jones (2007) Your satisfaction is guaranteed compatible with PC and Mac--> if you are unhappy with this product for any reason, you may return it at your own expense.
