Artwork is in excellent original condition: frame is in very good condition apart from some very minor surface wear on the extreme outer edges. Although I can not read the signature, I am convinced by the quality of this work that it is by an important artist. In quality, the technique goes far beyond the usual Venice canal oils produced for the Italian and English tourist trade at the turn of the century. In fact, the work compares in quality and technique to the Venice paintings of John Singer Sargent.
