MOCKMICKEY WILL BE ATTENDING THE 2008 BRISBANE WORKING WITH WOOD SHOW AT THE BRISBANE EXHIBITION GROUNDS ON 16TH 17TH 18 MAY    Q:  why is this so much? Sep-05-07 A:  i can take this piece anywhere and HEAR the onlookers , all shows I goto I dont hear much from crowd response at art shows these days. that is why is so much. thankyou for your question, Mark   Q:  Hi, I had the great pleasure of seeing this wonderful piece of art at the wood show in Brisbane, unfortunately my budget does not quite stetch to purchase this but I do hope that displaying this piece on ebay gets you lots of good exposure and resulting commission work. good luck Sep-05-07 A:  glad to to see that you have seen in real life, that is where it is seen best, thankyou for your comments, mark   Q:  To Mockmickey, keep doing what you are doing. Australia needs an artist like you. Those people who wrote negative comments cant even spell let alone create art like yours. Sep-03-07 A:  thankyou for your comments, mark   Q:  i could make one of thoose in 1-6months it wount be worth 17mil i sell it for $150 Sep-01-07 A:  gee you work for cheap. and its 18 mil to buy now not 17, thats the starting bid, Thankyou for your comments. mark   Q:  I was browsing and came acrooss your item.I think it is beautiful, the detail is amazing.I love the RedBacks they are a part of everyday Qld life.WELL DONE Sep-01-07 A:  thankyou for your comments they are appreciated, mark   Q:  Could I ask why this is so expensive? Is there a special reason? Cheers Aug-31-07 A:  well its not real art if its cheaper ,   Q:  omg! you are never gonna sell that. lol. You think its worth 17 million???lol! i'll buy it for 2 dollars???how bout that??? Aug-31-07 A:  sorry but I cannot saccept your offer of $2. but thanks all the same.........   Q:  buetifull work when you think about it art is in the eye of the beholder, good luck..look ay what they paid 4 blue poles. Aug-30-07 A:  thankyou , mark   Q:  hi....xssaaa hehe was this owned by queen england??? byebye Aug-29-07 A:  no it was not   Q:  are you seious, i noticed that you where bowing your head in one of the photos, i would bow my headin shame too. Aug-29-07 A:  I am not selling my face Q:  Its a nice piece of furniture but seeing that you have decided to put an unrealistic price on it, why not aim for the sky and go for 1 billion dollars? 13-Sep-07 A:  a billion dollars ! that would be an unrealistic price then.... thankyou for your comments, Mark Q:  Wow, this looks absolutely magical! Does it have any hidden powers? 12-Sep-07 A:  thankyou, powers hmmmm, depends on what one classes as power........ mark Q:  Doesn't eBay charge their listing fee as a % of the starting price? You better pray to God you sell it, else you'll be seriously out of pocket with a $17M starting price, unless of course you own shares in eBay?!?! 12-Sep-07 A:  do they well i have been a member for nearly 7 years so I am right for comments on my ebay account ,,,,thankyou for your comments, although insignificant to art piece... mark Q:  There is absolutly magnificent workmanship involved in this item. It is stunning in every respect. However, I'm sure you are a serious artist----but your work is not going to be taken seriously by selling it on Ebay---and asking a preposterous price for it. It immediatly turns a beautiful piece of art into a joke. It cheapens it's value because instead of people viewing it and basing their judgement of it on the workmanship----instead they keep comparing it to the 18 million dollar price tag. In that case, your redback cabinet loses every time. You are obviously a great and talented artist----why cheapen yourself and your work with this type of publicity. Asking 18 million gets people scrutinizing your sanity instead of your work. If you have to sell your work on Ebay (which I don't believe you do) then put a fair price on the piece. However, most of the people on ebay are regular people and 1800 dollars would be alot for most viewers. Better to sell it in an upscale place. 10-Sep-07 A:  Thank you for your comments, yes there are alot of regular""" viewers on here as u call them, but this is my main reason for this work to be sold on ebay....no.1 it gives everyone a chance to view it, not just what the galleries decide for us to view.. no...2 a upscale place as you mentioned would be nice if they did not want a third of price, and for what, selling it ( maybe) this project took 3 years full time to build ..why are they worth one third? no...3....sure a upscale place might get attention from upscale persons, but remember upscale persons don't ever visit ebay, If this listing has turned this item into a joke well so be it, I have very good reputable persons who would argue..... 10 years full time as an artist , ,.......better to sell to the whole world....anyone..=..ebay ,,,thankyou for your comments mark Q:  Hi, I would like to direct you to a thread I started in the discussion board about your lovely piece of Art. I would like to apologise for my acqusation in my opening post and I hope that the thread enlightens you to create more lovely pieces of Art. To see the thread please click the link below or work your way to the discussion boards and goto the round table and click the post I started. Bradley http://forums.ebay.com.au/thread.jspa?threadID=600066675&start=0 09-Sep-07 A:  thankyou, i have viewed thread and there is certainly a range of different views on why this piece is listed for this price.....no...1 ..i always pay my ebay fees, 2..yes I get in touch with various customers around world, and 3...yes it would be hard to part with, so is this piece for real,,, as in it makes anyone feel emotion,,,I like to think so yes. Mark Q:  Wow! Not my type of "art", but I do appreciate the time and talent to do this. I know you are joking when you say it is worth that much. I have "real art" that costs much less. Good luck and thank you for sharing. 09-Sep-07 A:    thankyou for your comments, correct ,it is not art at all , let alone real art, until its sold, regardless of price. mark 26th Mar 2007, 12:22 AM Surfin the net and stumbled across this site www.Mockmickey.com Interesting stuff then I saw the prices :o Is this for real?   26th Mar 2007, 09:15 AM Interesting work........but I wonder if the zero key on his keyboard is a bit sticky   26th Mar 2007, 11:46 AM maybe he just does not really want to sell his work unless....then again some high priced stuff might just establish his artworks.   26th Mar 2007, 08:31 PM Let's all chip in and buy the 'Wicked Lady' cabinet for Ruffly. It will only be about $45 000 each.............. and free postage.   26th Mar 2007, 11:08 PM Tell him he's dreaming 27th Mar 2007, 09:48 PM well, if someone will buy it..why not charge that much?hope he gets customers cos they look awesome!   28th Mar 2007, 10:06 AM I wonder if he actually has sold anything for those prices. At least in one regard it seems to be working marketing wise. We wouldn't be visiting his site otherwise.   rufflyrustic 28th Mar 2007, 10:42 AM This Master's work was displayed last year at the Wood show in Brisbane. Majorly OUTSTANDING work. I could have stood there for hours taking in all the work on his masterpieces.Once you see the pieces in person, the prices are pretty realistic, IMHO.Carry - free postage would be correct :D Tell him he's dreamingThats some serious work, and a SERIOUS price tag :oo: :iagree:   Gorgeous piece of work from an artistic perspective. It's highly amusing to see how deftly you exposed the under belly of the E-bay consumer.*If it is not or does not appear undervalued they don't want it.*And the pretentious nature of the art community:If the Sultan of Brunei bought one then Micheal Jackson and Britney Spears would want one as well.-Herd mentality-   Q:  lets say somebody buys you truely amazing artwork for 17mil, what would you do with the money?? 14-Oct-07   A:  Thanks for your comments and questions, was getting tired of nasty persons.... ok think I may have been asked this question, i will have a look and see, if i didnt i will answer, Mark     Q:  A truly amazing piece of work And a good way to get some exposure too :) 14-Oct-07   A:  thankyou for your comments on art piece, Mark     Q:  Absolutely astonishing piece of artwork... no words can describe my thoughts on this incredible beauty, made this lady dream of renewed craftsmanship. 13-Oct-07   A:  Thankyou very much for your comments, Mark     Q:  How about 5 bucks and a bag of cat shit? Seems fair. 13-Oct-07   A:  how about $3 for ya best camaro......seems fair after all its just a car , and they made a heap of them...... Thanks for comments, mark     Q:  who do you think you are god or someone, sure you have created something touched by the heavens , but surely you jest, be relistic. 12-Oct-07   A:  no there is only one god, and I fear thee,,i am realistic as you say, thankyou for saying that, that is special comment.it is just a price and who is going to pay for me to be talking to you all, true answers what artist gives ya that. look at the art more, thanks Mark     Q:  with that kind of money you would have to buy the ring and not just the lord of the rings full scale set.......... 12-Oct-07   A:  ok am artist so........ why buy the ring when you can talk to froddo at the moment......... Mark     Q:  i love this piece. i love working with timber myself. i would bid but i am so damn afraid of spiders. good luck! 12-Oct-07   A:  glad you love piece, am honest so........... what if you were art viewer who thought ......... what if spiders were not spiders at all......kind regards and thanks for comments, Mark     Q:  Think your work is truly one of a kind. Cant believe peoples comments. The one calling you a dork is obviously mentally defected or he still lives in his parents basement and is probably 50 years old. Telling people to kill them selves is fuc*ed up and it still wont make you anything but a trash talking, time wasting loser. 12-Oct-07   A:  ha i have to laugh as gee ,people will want to message him soon. he may be 50,in a basement.lol. thankyou for comments you have written on my artwork, Kind regards, Mark     Q:  Must be pretty easy to trash talk when you live in your parents' basement. Seriously, how much time did you waste making that piece of junk? Now that you dropped the price 95% it looks like you might not be able to afford the full-scale Lord of the Rings play set. That said, two things are certain about you -- 1)you suck at art and 2) you have no business intelligence whatsoever. So maybe killing yourself doesn't look so bad afterall....you fncking dork. 12-Oct-07   A:  number 1 , i dont live in basement and a long time. cant afford it hey, you had a big mouth , cmon nows ya chance i did drop price and u never bid, . Thats it hey no business sense, otherwise I wouldnt be even considering letting this product start at this price. am doing a favour to all, d--khead. let it be known that mockmickey would have let this piece go for a song........ so ya finish watching now .yes you can ring again if ya want, got me must be some time wasters out there with no money, and yeah its easy talkin to someone who isnt going to buy it. Mark - mockmickey     Q:  so will that hurt . what a fool. still to dear. like other comments read....kindly kill yourself 11-Oct-07   A:  yes correct it did hurt me and will if gets bidded on. but least i am showing the world what jokers there are here, and that i am also resonable person and not a scumbag with a huge mouth. this piece is worth more so........let it be known, mockmickey gave all a chance to get this item for a song......and what ya think it will be better if i am dead, and you now only have about 5 hours left, Mark     Q:  You go Mickey! That is a beautiful piece of art, and you have handled all the negative comments and downright rudeness with class. best of luck! 11-Oct-07   A:  thankyou , although some are getting hard, thanks for your comments, Mark     Q:  Kindly kill yourself. 11-Oct-07   A:  has been lowered to 1 million, fregin bets are placed on horses for that much you loser.... still to much for you hey, what a loser. do not worry i have to answer a few more persons like you who want it for nothing . this got lowered for me to see if all you pretend losers have anything except big mouths. And dont worry its only for a short time....... mark     Q:  just a question , but what will you do with the money, after all you did say about greed in one of your answers. 10-Oct-07   A:  one thing it is not sold ok....a fair question. so i am to be blunt....will i still have to wake up ? will i have to eat? will i have to worry? will i have to get sick? will i have to read? will i have to ahhh the list goes on... ok i have had my winge and will answer....let my path be drawn for me....an honest answer....I have a few hobbies to help the heart... another honest answer!!!!!, i.e when not in workshop doin this art, Mark     Q:  Please remove your Bulgarian meat goggles and place this item into a wood chipper. Kidding, but seriously, my stomach hurt from laughing hard, so I go sit on toilet. Excuse me, I forgot to buy tissue papers. 10-Oct-07   A:  not you again, and you still are on or in the toilet, cmon where s that starting price.....dont be weak like ya stomach....., oh and just use ya finger, Mark     Q:  I bet there are lots of watchers to see if you really sell this piece of 'art' !! 10-Oct-07   A:  ends with about 40 watchers, 2 maybe with the money, 5 maybe jornos and maybe 33 watchers, Mark     Q:  I have a superman outfit you can use loser.I own art and this aint it and wont be . go back to the mirror loser. and lower your starting bid. 10-Oct-07   A:  well then it wont be, I stand for every artist to be able to show their work to the world through here , ebay, with the chance the world may like it. listing fees are allright which gives everyone that chance, this also lets the WORLD say what they think of your art, the effects it has etc. and thats only through a picture, so go away loser and keep buying your 40 million dollar paintings......and send me the superman outfit... Mark     Q:  You seem to be so proud of yourself and your work that perhaps you should consider keeping the hutch, installing a mirror, and spending your time masturbating to yourself with your favorite Dungeons & Dragons outfit on. 10-Oct-07   A:  maybe, i hadnt thought of that, but you have! I also dont own one of those outfits, where do I buy one? what a load of crap, just because of starting price is possibly in your reach, I dont know, but you have greed, so you thats to much out of the SPARE billion...so you have to throw ridiculous remarks at myself... thanks for your suggestions, now go away... mark     Q:  Stop sniffing so much paint thinner and lower your goddamn price. This piece of "art" is more like a piece of my "fart" left behind in my underpants. Cheers, tuffy! 09-Oct-07   A:  for all i know your fart may be worth a lot so cmon then, tell me what to lower it too, stop talkin crap as u and a few others reckon you want it well cmon put ya money where ya mouth is ...(from where i sit that is down the can)...... if the offer you say is shit(you seem familar with that expression), ill leave it there where it is , if I think that you are just full of shit , ill still leave it there.......speak to me correctly and you may get the correct answers, Thankyou for your commments, Mark thanks for your comments mark     Q:  Would like to purchase this magnificent piece of art. Since fecal matter was used as the primary carving medium, please also send a warm bag of oily anal discharge to “cover” shipping damage repairs. Cheers. 09-Oct-07   A:  ok i havnt been listing these comments or threats , so from now on I am,, you are very well spoken person, remember what comes from mouth comes from u as a person, so what kind of person have you just shown us who you are,,, and you want to purchase ...it is not for sale to persons of your characture, thanks for writing, Mark     Q:  is that passo's or yen? WoW got to be a ebay record 09-Oct-07   A:  dollars, the folding type...an ebay record ???maybe, but I doubt it, they certainly wont tell us , maybe u should ask ebay....thanks for your comments, Mark     Q:  why is this so expensive? 09-Oct-07   A:  another, oh no ,same person, maybe they are lookin for different answer..... Mark     Q:  why is this so expensive? 09-Oct-07   A:  should read listing details as I have been asked this a few times..... Thanks for writing. mark     Q:  I'm guessing you're listing impossible prices for some sort of exposure for your work. Honestly put a low auction price with any ridiculous reserve price you like and see what kind of figure you can really ask for. Until then keep listing it on eBay for too much and keep watching it go unsold. 09-Oct-07   A:  of course this impossible price was just plucked out of the air??????....i will keep watching for each time for it to be unsold..will you keep watching to?.. thankyou for your comments, Mark     Q:  Why do you keep relisting this item? Do you seriously think anyone is going to buy it? Tracey 07-Oct-07   A:  to show to more poeple, is that ok, or should i write to you before next listing asking for permission....... mark     Q:  Your work is nice but you're a god dam idiot. Sorry. 07-Oct-07   A:  nice is good, since these comments are aimed at what art I am selling and not at myself like your other comment, and using the worst descriptive word one can possible use against themselves, and no its not dam idiot,,,, thankyou for saying my work is nice, Mark     Q:  Mate, Your work is unbelievable and inspirational to a strugling artist like myself, I lost my disire to create for others to see,but your art and attitude has inspired me to put my art back out to be seen. Many thanks REX. 07-Oct-07   A:  Thankyou, I hope this inspiration will be put to outstanding art work then.....thankyou for your comments, Mark     Q:  This magnificent. You have very strong, delicate hands, I cannot even imagine how much heart & soul you poured into this thing. I'm sure someone special will buy it eventually. 07-Oct-07   A:  Thankyou for your time ,for u to write to me, Mark     Q:  You are really stupid. Who is going to buy that peice of junk for 17 million dollars. I think you're fat from the photo fatty. 05-Oct-07   A:  I am stupid you are correct, stupid for even repling to such a jealous person. just for record my weight is 79kg, if that is what you want to know. Thanks for comments, Mark     Q:  Absoluetly Beautiful work Mark!! So relaxing to see true Art.. You must have an Old Soul.. God Bless You.!! Your Art will hang in the Halls of the choosen ones.. Peace -G- 05-Oct-07   A:  thankyou, this comment means the world to myself, thankyou again, Mark     Q:  Hi Mark, Congratulations of creating such a detailed, beautiful and thought provoking piece of art. Your talent, dedication, passion and the hours committed to achieve such a creation are evident in the work. I wish you every success in the future. Keep on creating! Kindest regards, Linda. 24-Oct-07 A:  Thankyou for your wonderful comments, Mark Mockmickey   Q:  better raise the min bid someone might bid at the last second!!! 23-Oct-07 A:  really, ill keep it there this time, thanks, mark   Q:  Just out of curiousity how much does it cost for you to list this! ? Btw very nice work mate. 22-Oct-07 A:  Thankyou for saying work is nice, however your other question has nothing to do with art piece, mark   Q:  You truly have an amazing talent. The fine detail in the carving and the joints... the hinges absolutely beautiful, it is a masterpiece in the wood working world. A true Holy grail as such... I checked out your website, your other works, just fantastic... Alot of hours and passion gone into these cabinets of yours... Good to see someone who has a passion and a dream... Good Luck! 19-Oct-07 A:  THANKYOU, very strong words , however it is not the meaning of the true holy grail. this piece is the WAY TO THE GRAIL. again thanks for your very powerful comments, This comment made me smile alot .Thankyou. Mark   Q:  Nicely done carving. You aren't by chance a previously dead famouse artist reincarnated? You know justify the bid price a little. 19-Oct-07 A:  Thankyou for comments, I dont know enough on reincarnation to have an opinion on this sorry......justify my bid price, justify, hmmm, ok lets see all the artists in the world today who sacrifice their life for so long because they want to do time consuming art, for no commission what so ever, that is they want to do it for themselves and no one else and knowing there is no rainbow at the completion of piece. that is my justifacation for this price, thankyou, Mark   Q:  Hi mate, While the piece is not to my liking, I appreciate the skill and determination that has gone into it. While I dont doubt that you want 17 million for it, I dont think it will reach that price in your life time... or mine. I am no art history buff but I understand that true value is not seen until the artist can no longer produce, that is dies. While I do not wish you any harm, I dont think that you will reap any monitary reward for your labour, but more along the lines of perhaps assuring your future generations will not go without. I feel your hard work and attentioon to detail may be left behind as a legacy of mockmickey, and may even inspire future generations of Australians to attempt the same accomplishments. While a 17m illion dollar sale may be extremely satisfying, I think knowing a legacy of mockmckey may also leave you with a full heart. Keep your chin up and ignore the critics. I hope that you do not stop producing either, that would be a true travesty. Chad 19-Oct-07 A:  Dear mr Chad,ok your comment has hit a raw nerve of mine and you sound like a true person but I must be blunt with you,,breaking your email down I will start at the start...while this piece is not your liking you still had to write this comments to me, huh i dont get it, why? next is the raw nerve about when the artist dies...ok well lets say a scientist CREATES a medicine to cure a disease etc, is it correct then by me saying that the cure or his creation will only be worth something when he is dead, or will the suffering want it now..........who said my future generations will do without anyway.......I am to inspire future generations? hey ,well here we go,,,,,,,oh mockmickey WOW what an artist i want to be just like him dad, great son but you wont get any money for your work until you die, gee what an inspiration for future generations?????? I think many will give up at that moment. keep my chin up and ignore critics, isnt this one,,,,look why is this so,,,that all persons have been programmed this way for so long now, of thinking that we must be dead, that needs to be changed as im sure the ceiling of the chapel was painted by a dead man, wasnt it,,,,one of the greatest art pieces in the world , why would they commission someone for all that time when he should have been dead for his work to be noted as a great art piece....sorry i just dont get that way of community thinking, Im sure my children i have, will say when im dead,, ahhh but we still have his art,,,,,NO NO NO , they love me to death and would not care less bout my art if i wasnt here.......think about it ...... anyway yes was a very hard comments to repond to but that is my honest opinions on this,,,, mark   Q:  hey man would you accept 40 bucks cash for it i need some firewood cuz im almost out, also it is a lovely piece of work so il offer you 40 cash if you can deliver it to me and give me a hand getting it into my 44 gallon drum out back cheers. 17-Oct-07 A:  gee you are spending big on firewood, for same price I can get U a tonne of wood to burn. and you sure are original with that question, cmon think of something different, dont copy of past comments, or possily you cant hey, Mark   Q:  What color flame will it produce? 17-Oct-07 A:  I would say red but once fire got to the huon pine on inside it may get a blueish tinge though the flame, why dont you buy it and light up for yourself, yeah just take a photo for me, mark   Q:  Hey Man, Keep doing what you love. It always amazes me how many self rightious busybodies are out there. Their comments make them look stupid, not you. Your work is amazing - keep it up! Mike 16-Oct-07 A:  Thanks mike, I will keep doing ,and I dont get around much so what is btntools...can i ask ,I use some tools now and again. Mark   Q:  i think it an interesting piece thats what art is about good luck 16-Oct-07 A:  Thankyou, a very good comment, kindest regards, Mark   Q:  Hello, you must be tired of having to respond to all of these crude comments, I was not looking for art at all when I stumbled across this and I must say, this work is very unique and stunning. It is unfortunate and sad that there are people in this world that lack the knowledge and class required to be civil. It is uncomforable, but realistic to note that these people will not amount to anything other than labour employees who live from paycheck to paycheck and have nothing to showwhen they grow old other than maybe a very tainted liver. Congratulations, your work is beautiful. 16-Oct-07 A:  yeah am getting a bit sick of it, never bad ones from canada, maybe i should move there. a totally different comment, thankyou very much for that. mark   Q:  I was just wondering if you had 3 of these units. I have 3 toilets in my home and I think it would be a great unit to store my toilet rolls in ! 15-Oct-07 A:  yes I have 3 different cabinets, if you want to do that with them you can, but you must pay for them first, mark   Q:  Hi Mark, you are obviously a very talented and creative cabinet maker. This is a beautiful piece, but as you may have heard already, the price is absolutely unjustifiable. The most expensive item of furniture ever sold (the Badminton Cabinet) was built in 1726 by 30 craftsmen and took over 90 man-years to build. It has impeccable credentials and provenance, but only sold for a little more than you are asking. I can only conclude that this is not a serious listing for sale, but purely a marketing device. 15-Oct-07 A:  fair enough , you are correct and incorrect , although price it sold for was 19 million pounds not dollars, so around $36million,thats about 18 more million for those impeccable credintials... so that is quite a bit more than this piece is listed for. I understand your concern with price ,but this is not 1726. and I have always stated , I am open to offers, Thankyou for your comments.   Q:  my 15 yr old son an i were just looking at your work here. he thought it was pretty awesome..discussion lasting about 20 mins..till i told him the price you were asking. he face fell in shock..THEN i explained to him that if i put myself in YOUR SHOES with such a WONDERFUL piece of work..i too would want the world to view it..and..smiles...the price is not so bad! how many of these ppl would NOT have looked at it,if your price WAS $17.00! (he's on messenger telling his FRIENDS TO LOOK! lol) AWESOME STUFF!! would like to see more of your work!! 15-Oct-07 A:  Dear sir and son, very correct , not many at all if price was $17, not many if $1.7m but alot at 17mil. have 3 larger cabinets and smaller cabinets etc located at www.mockmickey.com. Thankyou for viewing my work, Mark   Q:  Do you combine shipping? 12-Nov-07 A:  yes I could organize this for you from Australia to you, Thanks , Mark   Q:  Greeting, You are truly an artist in the words' most common meaning. Your work is priceless if you believe it is. Do not let the jelous moles change your ways. I find arrowheads that were dropped some 10,000 years ago and, being the first human to touch them in time since, they are each worth a billion to me- even if no one else thinks so. So be content in your asking price and believe in your (he)art.. you will be fine. Good luck to you. Kindly, scott 12-Nov-07 A:  Thankyou for your comments, your arrowheads sounds very very interesting, you must also find other treasures along the way, yeah . interesting to hear as to what other persons find and do around the world, Thanks again, Mark   Q:  hi freind wake up a smell the real world, surely these bids are a joke? have you had any contact with these so called bidders,? listen they are having a lend of you. 11-Nov-07 A:  hmm, you are correct and I dont know if they are real or not. I have been contacted by one bidder when bid amount was 30,000,000 he offered my a very tidy sum to end auction. yes i declined to take the chance that may be someone does like this piece for what it is. if it doesnt sell and they are fraudulent , well I hope I am contacted back, BUT if is not sold and I receive no money I spose Ill relist it again . art must make a person feel... thankyou and yes I am awake..... Mark   Q:  HI, MARK HOPE THEY LEARN A LESSON ABOUT ART HEAR ON EBAY AND MANNERS . AND WHY IN THE EYE OF THE ART LOVER IT IS WORTH ALL HE HAS TO OFFER WEATHER IT IS 50.00 ARE 50.000.000 ALL THE SAME PRICELESS, GOODLUCK, THE HUNTERS 11-Nov-07 A:  Thankyou, correct high priced art these days is mainly brought as investments, whereas art used to be paid for how much an individual is in love with art pieces. regardless a purchaser still has to pay , once auction is completed, thankyou for your comments, Mark   Q:  15,000 hours into all 3 and it shows. Love your attention to detail..... beautiful work! 11-Nov-07 A:  yes , id reckon probably more, when i think about the time spent on the thinking side of them, thanks for your comments, Mark   Q:  Hello, Just wanted to say that your art is certainly an amazing piece! I know art when I see it, and that would have taken ALOT of time and energy to create. I appreciate your hard work. I hope you get what is deserved for this One of A Kind piece of history. It isnt about the art, its about the story behind it that makes it so special. And the reason why you chose to make this piece of art the way it is...that is why you cant put a price on art.......congratulations! Nicole 11-Nov-07 A:  Thankyou for your heart felt comments, they certainly took alot of time and my life, and thanks for viewing, Mark   Q:  Hey just wanted to say nice work... and it's nice to see you tell someone not to say the j word, says a lot about you... keep it up! Good luck! 10-Nov-07 A:  thanks that comment means alot,,,, some are very bad at me saying that, which i dont post thanks mark   Q:  Hi there, i think your pieces are lovely. I do especially like your jewelry boxes. I just wanted to ask... Are the pieces hand carved or machine carved? Thankyou for your time. 10-Nov-07 A:  all hand carved , every single bit, thanks for your comments, Mark   Q:  Nice piece of artwork, but I knew you were kidding on the price when I saw you were a Chelsea fan, lets get real here. Man U all the way. 09-Nov-07 A:  why would I be kidding on the price, whats wrong with Chelsea ? just one question what does man U all the way mean........cmon mate lets get real here........anyway thanks for comments, Mark   Q:  You are getting alot of attention with your high price as people are curious. You should throw a link in your auctions to your website with some smaller things for sale shown there. Might even make a few bucks. 08-Nov-07 A:  Thanks for the tip, however it is breaking a listing rule, so everyone just has to know myself and web address as mockmickey, mark   Q:  Hey Mark! I hope you are well. I see that you are from Australia. So is Wolfmother. Man, their first record is the greatest debut record in the last 40 years. I hope you are listening to it. Thanks and take care. 08-Nov-07 A:  yeah they sure are, and yes have listened to their music. Thankyou for your comments, Mark   Q:  Your work is amazing, so detailed and perfected. I was curious thought of what the spiders where made out of, I couldnt find it in the description. Took me a while to figure out it was for the three works! Well done, publicity stunt has really done well for you, Ill be sure to show my art teacher. If anythign she will probably praise your techniques on getting noticed! Good luck 05-Nov-07 A:  spiders have been carved from cedar etc and painted in enamel. thankyou for your comments, Mark   Q:  jesus! that's a lot of kitsch for a lot of money!! 04-Nov-07 A:  hey dont say that j word, tis not nice at all, kitsch, well maybe 1 or 2 wrong choice of title words, sorry bout that, although artwork speaks for this title so, thanks for your comments, Mark     Q:  Ive noticed this a couple of times and always look through all the pics. they are amazing. Are people really that stupid (not mocking your art) but how many peices of art in museums could a 2 year old do that is sold for 10+ million dollars? Art is a very flexible thing and for someone who enjoys art money is not the issue. This is good advertisement for your art like you said and thats all that matters, it's getting noticed. I have to laugh at the people saying who would buy this?, this is too much! and abusing you. I wish I was man enough to sit behind a computer and critisize someone. They should get a life. They don't like it don't keep coming back and looking at it. They're obsessed with bagging it out why not just leave it? That really annoys me how they say ive been watching this for some time, then bag it out. Someone needs to get out and off the computer! Anyways nice work mate these are crazy. Keep it up. Sorry bout the essay. Felt like having my peice :P 03-Dec-07 A:  Thanks for your essay as u said,,,, but hey thats great , please, thats great,n shows the time u have taken out, beautiful, work work work work thats the life for most now, thanks for your essay I enjoyed, Mark Q:  your work is excellent but you must face it that it will never sell, especially not on eBay. well done all the same. 03-Dec-07 A:  Oh !!!!!!!!!1it will never sell on here!!!!!! gee thats a shame, wonder if I can turn these items into a salable item on ebay ,, makes me more wonder !!!!!!!! after all why should everyone believe the greatest art comes from such and such and so on..BUT EBAY,,,everuyone can try,, tis cheap, even though a lot of persons would argue(i mean the persons with broadband ,food, shelter etc) look mate if sells it sells,, and if doesnt well it DOESNT,one way or anther this is where the most poeple see my art all over the world , also I answetr honestly . full stop. Kind regards, mark Q:  I have been watching this item for a while and it seems that when it ends it starts up again. How can you afford the costs associated with listing this item??? 30-Nov-07 A:  dear sir, i am amazed at how eveybody in community we live ,,is all about the almighty dollar.....whatever the question, it comes down to money.... so my answer is.........you have a computer, you have the internet, you have shelter to store these items, you have energy to run it, you have FOOD all the time ,,,,i have just listed 5 itms that cost a lot of money.....how dare you ask how I can afford $6.80 ebay fees every 10 days.cmon mate wake up please, but thanks for the comments, Mark Q:  I have to say dude, that you are one of the most gifted artists I have ever seen. I wish I had the money to go and VISIT one of your art shows, let alone bid for it. Keep up the awesome work, and good to see you ignoring the negativity people have towards your auction. --Lucas 29-Nov-07 A:  Thankyou Lucus, although dont do many art shows, These on ebay, I get to see how really wants , just to see them, regardless on any money fiqure.... Thankyou, mark Q:  I applaud your creativity on all levels. Life only offers what you are prepared to reach out and grasp. If ever I become ridiculously wealthy I'll be sure to make an offer and help to make your detractors look like the stupid people they are. 29-Nov-07 A:  Thankyou very much , Mark Q:  After seeing this auction for the last few months and reading all the questions & your answers, the most interesting part about this whole situation is how serious you take yourself, your wooden cabinets, and this auction itself! I've been watching your feeble attempt to sell your cabinet(s), which you claim to be art, for quite some time now with great amusement. $17 MIL for some wooden cabinets? I'm not even going to tackle that because I know that no matter what I say, you will reply once again as you have to others with an absolutely serious response trying to justify your asking price, and you will continue to sound as though you really truly take yourself and this wood seriously! That's the part that amuses me most! Some advice: Don't hold your breath waiting for your so-called "art" to sell, and don't quit your day job. 28-Nov-07 A:  mate no one may never buy these from ebay as the untrusting abilities of the internet. a true auction on here! , how does anyone know if bidders are fraud, they dont,. However the world does see my art and that is my aim . one more question for you?I must be superman to have a day job and do this as well... wow...........i dont have to work as this is my job or more so my life, and that is what is up your nose isnt it, that you have to get out of bed everyday and do a job you possibly hate. so my so called art has won my heart and it is my time...but made yours jealous ,because when you have a boss your time is theirs. gee what have i here... Thanks Mark Q:  you are a complete dickhead. who is going to place a bid on this, the answers to your questions are ridiculas! i would like to know what you think you see? answer me please you fool. and place your listing as a real amount. john 26-Nov-07 A:  how do you think they were built dick----. , you fool, you put up with my head everyday and you may build something like this too.what do you think i see idiot...i see the truth.... I dont sleep much and now that you have upset me i will not lower price ,,, get a life and listen to your heart, i'll keep these pieces myself to look upon . now go away, thanks for your comments, mark Q:  Hello, Firstly I would like to say you have created something extremely "OUTSTANDING".BETTER TO BE LOOKED OVER, THAN OVERLOOKED. My question is, is there any significant reason you named it(Way to the Grail) as I relate Grail with Jesus Christ,.? 26-Nov-07 A:  Congratalations this is the most difficult question ever asked to me about this item.... The grail what is it..? is it a cup? a cup!!!! a materialistic item that has no soul....maybe it is.....but then again adam couldnt live alone could he????? My answer is in the spiders ...as all are female bar 1 , this is aimed at the choice of a man or a female has in this world to find their perfect love. the perfect love ,,,someone who you can live forever with, with no hassles but to much love, opps did i say forever, gee just like they rekon the cup does??? we must all make our heart beat so bad that it does never die.from love .it keeps going forever,,oh no,, theres that forever word again ,,,just like the cup, That is why I named this item as it is, THE WAY TO THE GRAIL.......the search for the heart to be happy forever , and forever is long time, The redback female spider eats the male after they mate. Thankyou for your question, mark mockmickey     hi i get it. good luck Dec-14-07 A:  great , hard to find someone thats special hey,,,, thanks for comments, Mark   Q:  man up Dec-07-07 A:  ok im afraid you will have to give me a little more information, MAN UP, well that could mean a number of things, mark   Q:  BEEN STUDYING ART SINCE AGE 3. THERE IS A LOT OF CABINET CREATORS AND A LOT OF PROFESSIONALS LIKE YOURSELF AMONGST MANY OTHER TALENTED ARTISTS. WHAT REMAINS TO BE TRUE' IS THE FACT NO ONE WILL EVER REPLICATE YOUR ART EASILY. ''HOWEVER TO HOW WELL YOU PUT ALL THE EFFORT IN YOUR WORKMANSHIP THERE IS ONE THING FOR SURE' MOST PEOPLE THAT CLAIM TO HAVE SOLD A PAINTING FOR HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. MAY HAD ONLY CLAIMED TO PAID THE TAXES FROM SUCH A SALE. MAY IN FACT HAD THE RIGHT FRIENDS TO GET AROUND THAT AND SAY THEY DID SO MAY HAD NEVER GOT MORE THAN A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS AND A PHONY STORY TO MAKE IT SEEM THAT WAY, BUT I HAVE YET NEVER SEEN THE ACTUAL PROOF THAT A PAINTING OR ANY SORT OF ART HAS EVER RECEIVED MORE THAN ONE PENNY, BECAUSE IF IN FACT A PERSON RECEIVES ANY MONEY HOW DO YOU KNOW THE SELLER & BUYER DIDN'T MEET LATER WHERE SELLER COULD REFUND MOST OF THE SUM OR ALL AND JUST BOASTED ABOUT IT? DON'T LOWER YOUR PRICE MUCH! A BUYER WILL SHOW UP' from Fulgurite Man of Utah Dec-07-07 A:  If it sells or when it sells, an honest price will be placed on my site www.mockmickey.com. I do however understand your point of view. Thanks for your comments, Mark   Q:  I'm not going to pretend that i buy these items, they are nice though. I see on documentries, auctions, and articles in papers that some big names in the art world would rack up impressive $$$. So i ask yo these questions politely.... what makes this worth 18 million, is this because your a known artist, upcoming( wish you luck if you are)or is it because you thinks that's what it owes you?have you made any other masterpieces? i wish you all the best in selling these but unfortuneatly i don't see this happening. have you thought about just donating to a museum of art? all the best Dec-25-07 A:  have made 1 item almost 10 years ago, sold, these products have taken a long time yes,,are they worth that much , probably not, but as said (if you would have read, and here ....I'll say it again) just for you,,,," nobody looks at them if price does not stand out) they owe me all together about 18000 hours work and I quess a fair amount of money also., so there hows that , yeah ill keep my simple life as I have given at least 7 years full time of my life, and i'll give them to a museum ,ha ha, yeah right...oh yeah and I say that politely Thanks ,mark   Q:  Hey Mickey beautiful Work, you are very talented. If you feel they are worth $18m then so be it! If they are worth that much, they will sell, if they're not, then they won't! Do you regret answering that very first question and opening up a floodgate of negativity & scorn, which was interesting to read, if nothing else? Take it easy. Dec-25-07 A:  well do i regret it,,,well before I started posting messages they were coming in very thick and very very nasty , so that is why I decided to let everyone read the comments, Thankyou for your comments, Mark   Q:  weather the grail is a cup or not is still up for debate i wont go into all that though. well done on getting people to look at your work. although i belive balanese carvers do the same and better for a mere fraction of the price Dec-23-07 A:  maybe they do although what timbers and hardness do they use, lots of timbers fade color after a while, but australian timbers get darker as they age, as for the price ,,well it is a complete waste of time having these on ebay for an hourly rate as I have said before, no one looks, however at this price ,, everyone does!! thanks for your comments, Mark   Q:  I really dig the depth of what you do I felt as if 100 dollars was too much for my photos after seeing the low prices of others. It is important to not sell yourself short. I fully believe inthe inner impression and passion of yours and my vision comes out and people want to see it and pay for it..and your comments ' i keep all my comments and appreciate them all' definitely allowed my thought to freely flow. I would love to see more. Outstanding constance towards your visions in work promotes the worlds beauty for sure.. Any suggestions for my photographs? Dec-23-07 A:  no suggestions although photography is certainly becoming a very big art medium. best of luck and thanks for your comments, Mark   Q:  your cabinet is not that good, 17 milllll would buy a life, not a fricken shitty wooden cabinet...... yeah Dec-21-07 A:  mate why dont ya wake up and get a life firstly, secondly , love and happiness make a life not money ya loser, third, I dont how you buy a life,,huh what a stupid statement, Thanks for writing, Mark   Q:  youre a dead set f#$kwit mate!have a happy xmas and heres hoping you dont have a family to support..great piece but ive seen better craftsmanship. you are deluded. Dec-17-07 A:  hmm, thanks, been a while since a dead beat who runs me down and then says happy xmas, great piece but ive seen better ,huh... next youll want a newspaper written in white on black, do you have 2 heads that go with those staements,, I am thinking yes , and am grateful to spend xmas this year with family thanks for asking, also please send pictures of the better craftmanship iems, Thanks for your comments, Mark   Q:  Just wanted to compliment you mate on some of the finest wood craftsmanship I've have ever seen, the details in the wood are second to none. If these so called "artist" can flick and smudge a bit of paint over some canvas and call that "art!!??" then put a 10 mil price tag on it!? then your works worth 20 mil without a doubt. If I was bill gates mate I'de buy it without a second thought Dec-17-07 A:  thankyou for your comments, I make sure I keep them all, they mean alot to me,thanks, Mark Mockmickey   Q:  Hi, how much for shipping to Perth W.A Thanks Michael Dec-15-07 A:  Dear Michael, this is the 57 th time and different place that question has been asked to myself. I would be covering all shipping costs within australia. Thankyou for you question , Mark Mockmickey Q:   absolutely love your trade name and your ebay user id. Surely it is true!!?? You ARE "mocking" ebayers and trying to take the "Mickey" - hence MOCKMICKEY??????? I refer of course to the price tag and not the workmanship, craftmanship in making these oobjects. I admire your wicked sense of humour, which of course must run parallel to the workmanship, after all, it would take a craftsman to think up such a user id. Ken A: Dear Ken, the name comes from 1976 or around that era, my grandfather gave myself a hat , on it was an american company called mockmickey tractor machinery etc, I started receieveing the nickname ....mark mockmickey. 10 years ago i decided to call my artistry name mockmickey, and that is how the name came about, thanks for your comments, Mark Q:  hey fantastic work, what would postage be to tasmania 7250? thankyou 05-Jan-08 A:  free postage, thankyou, mark Q:  Hi Mark, I love your art and understand that you use eBay as a form of advertising it. I would like to know if you have other pieces or is there an art gallery where we can go and see them? 01-Jan-08 A:  sorry but no gallery as such, I do however have www.mockmickey.com as a viewing site, there are some smaller littler standup style cabinets there as well as small personalized jewelery boxes etc. also from time to time I do take all out for customers to come and see, maybe later this year,mockmickey.com always has this plastered over the home page. Thankyou for your questions, Mark Q:  Dear Artist, I am grateful for seeing this work , i am amazed at the art and not the craftsmanship involved within. I have watched this item for the past 6 months and must ask " what is your aim or goal in relisting these pieces when no bidders ever occurr? love your art, Deepest regards, Jennifer 29-Dec-07 A:  Dear jennifer, Thankyou I wanted this to be seen as art more than cabinetry.A difficult question also, so the aim would be to sell of course,. But in return for someone to buy these from me also would mean to me that they would like to look at them everyday more than me. Gee that would mean I have affected them bad in heart, with my art and i quess that is my aim or goal. Thankyou for your hard question, jokin Mark Q:  Hi there, Just wanted to say that your work is brilliant, it is so detailed. I recently saw on tv that this big heart thing that was made of metal went for a couple of million so if someone would pay that much for a peice of metal for that there is definate hope for you. the poeple that make fun of you for the price that you have put up, they have no idea what art is. Love your work! Jess from Brisbane 16-Jan-08 A:  Thanks for your comments, brissie hey , just down the road. thanks again mark Q:  I just couldn't resist jumping on the wagon with everyone else (don't like to feel left out) I can't wait until someone hits that bid now button, how many of these uneducated, completely lacking any sense of artistic flair (& possibly brains ) stains that ask such rude questions are going to be eating it, I will keep watching, you do amazing things for ebay!! great reading!! 11-Jan-08 A:  Thankyou for your comments, Mark Dear mockmickey,Wow!!! Beautiful work. Also beautiful work for dealing with the negative comments. You have certainly shown what you are made of and it is equal to your beautiful work. I can't imagine the time and talent it has taken to accomplish these great works of art but thank you for putting them on ebay where we can enjoy your labors. Where did you learn such intricate work? Anyway good job and keep up your inspirational work. It is a pleasure just to view it. Kayt Thankyou for your comments . mostly self taught ,a very long time to do.
