IT IS ALSO LISTED IN THE SELF REPRESENTING ARTISTS CATAGORY TO COMPLY WITH EBAY RULES.                  This is a truely wonderful knife. A large piece of ivory that measures  five inches long by more than an inch wide and a quater of an inch thick. It is hand carved and polished to a glass like finish. A beautiful finfely detailed etching of a nude mermaid is hand done and signed and dated by a NewBedford, Massachusetts artist. All work is hand done with stippling.  The knife is heavy stainless steel and measures over eleven inches long by an inch and a half wide. It has a lanyard hole in the top and comes in a nylon sheath with a loop that attaches to a belt. The back of the knife has a wonderful piece of exotic rose wood (dalbergia retusa) imported from Nicaragua. It is a beautiful wood with reds, oranges, yellows and very dramatic black stripes. The wood is also hand carved and polished. This is an unbelievable starting price for a one of a kind, hand made piece of art. Good luck, and happy bidding.
